Falcons Fire Head Coach; Eagles Fire Offensive, Defensive Coordinators

Dan Quinn Fired After 5 Disappointing Seasons In Atlanta

The Atlanta Falcons have dismissed head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Thomas Dimitroff after a disappointing start to the 2020 season. The Falcons are 0-5 and have been outscored by 94 points this season. It is a far cry from their 11-5 season in 2016 when they made it to the Super Bowl and lost to the New England Patriots.

Quinn was hired by the Falcons in 2015 after serving as the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks. He led the Falcons to a 43-42 record in five seasons, including a 10-22 mark over the past two seasons.

Raheem Morris Named Interim Head Coach

Raheem Morris has been named the interim head coach of the Falcons. Morris was the team's defensive coordinator in 2020. He has also been the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2012.

Eagles Fire Offensive, Defensive Coordinators After 0-2-1 Start

The Philadelphia Eagles have fired offensive coordinator Mike Groh and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz after a 0-2-1 start to the 2020 season. The Eagles have struggled on both sides of the ball this season, ranking near the bottom of the NFL in several major statistical categories.

Groh was hired by the Eagles in 2018. He was previously the wide receivers coach for the Los Angeles Rams. Schwartz was hired by the Eagles in 2016. He was previously the defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills.

Eagles Promote From Within

The Eagles have promoted quarterbacks coach Press Taylor to offensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Marquand Manuel to defensive coordinator. Taylor has been with the Eagles since 2018, while Manuel has been with the team since 2019.
